The concept of Yogjeevan was born in 1998, but it required time to accumulate knowledge, gather information, and establish an organization dedicated to the well-being of individuals. YOGJEEVAN was officially introduced in 2018 with the aim of promoting and maintaining people's health.
To make people believe that “Yoga is the journey of the Self, to the Self, through the Self”
Our goal is straightforward: to enhance people's lives by communicating how yoga brings a sense of peace, well-being, and a connection with the surrounding environment.
Yoga, fundamentally a spiritual discipline rooted in an intricate science, focuses on establishing harmony between the mind and body—an art and science of healthy living.
The term "Yoga" originates from the Sanskrit root "Yuj," meaning "to join," "to yoke," or "to unite." According to Yogic scriptures, the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with the Universal Consciousness, signifying a perfect balance between mind and body, as well as between Man and Nature. Modern scientists assert that everything in the universe is a manifestation of the same quantum firmament. One who experiences this interconnected existence is considered a yogi, having attained a state of freedom known as mukti, nirvana, or moksha. Thus, the goal of Yoga is Self-realization, transcending all forms of suffering and reaching the state of liberation (Moksha) or freedom (Kaivalya).
Yoga seeks to promote living with freedom in all aspects of life, emphasizing health and harmony as its primary objectives. "Yoga" also encompasses an inner science with various methods through which individuals can realize this union and gain mastery over their destiny.
Widely regarded as an 'immortal cultural outcome' of the Indus Saraswati Valley civilization, dating back to 3300 to 1900 BCE, Yoga existed for centuries as an oral tradition. The earliest written references to yoga are found in the Rig Veda, which scholars believe was composed between 1500 and 1200 BCE, with some suggesting astronomical references in the book point to it being partially written in the fourth millennium BCE.
Yoga profoundly influenced the development of various religious movements in Asia, including Buddhism, Jainism, Taoism, Sikhism, and Sufism. Over the centuries, diverse schools or types of Yoga have emerged, including Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Hatha Yoga (including its modern developments), Kriya Yoga, and Tantra Yoga (encompassing Mantra, Kundalini, Laya, Nada, and Hatha yoga’s).
In the late 19th century, Yoga found its way to the West through Swami Vivekananda, who addressed the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893. This marked the beginning of a strong interest in Yoga, paving the way for numerous other masters to visit the US and Europe.
